Inkan (personal seal) Registration
There are two types of inkan: unregistered and registered.
An unregistered inkan can be used for simple procedures such as signing documents, opening a bank account, withdrawing money, and issuing receipts.
A registered inkan is used for more important contracts such as buying a house or car, and borrowing and lending money. You can pick up an Inkan Registration Certificate, a document proving the registered inkan is genuine.
Making an Inkan
There are numerous specialty inkan makers in Hyuga. You can tell an inkan store by looking through the window or looking for the characters “印鑑". The workers there will help you through. Important choices are the text, material, font, case, and general shape of the cross section.
Inkan Registration
You can register your inkan with the Citizen Affairs Division on the 1st floor of the City Hall.
The owner should apply for the registration and should be 15 years or older.
Please bring a valid government issued photo ID with you to confirm your identity when you register.
The registration fee is 300円
