FIRE!
In the event of a fire, shout “Kaji da!" to alert those around you. If it looks like you can put it out yourself, do so ASAP. If it does not look like you can, call 119, the fire station, immediately. See this for what to say.
Evacuating
A good rule of thumb; evacuate when the fire spreads to the ceiling
When evacuating, priority is given to the children, the elderly, and the sick
Evacuate as quickly as possible. Don't worry about your clothes and belongings.
Never hesitate. If flames are blocking an exit, run through them without stopping. It is recommended to douse yourself with water and cover your face with wet cloth.
Remember, smoke rises. Keep low. Use a wet towel to cover your mouth and crawl low to the floor. In a room, keep to the walls. In a corridor, keep to the center.
Once you have escaped, do not go back in.
If there is someone still inside, immediately notify a nearby firefighter.
