If you lose a personal item, please check at the Koban or police station nearest to where you lost the item to see if anyone already turned it in. If you lost something on the train or in a station, talk to a station worker as soon as you notice. If they do not have your item in the lost and found, please report it to your nearest Koban or police station.

If you lose a credit card or ATM card, report it immediately to your credit card company or bank. If you lose your inkan (personal seal), please buy a new one. Once you do this, immediately talk to your bank and any other places where you use your inkan. You should revoke the previous inkan and register your new one to help prevent identity theft.
