Dialing 119 for Fire or Ambulance

If possible, speak in Japanese (useful phrases at bottom), if you are unable to speak Japanese, speak slowly and simply.

消防　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　救急

「火事(kaji)です(desu)！」

「救急(kyukyu)です(desu)！」

「○○(house, car, forest) is on fire。」
「The address is ○○町(machi)○丁目(cho me)○○番(ban)。」
(If you don't know the address, please give a nearby landmark。)
「There are (are not) people inside。」
「My name is ○○○○。」
「My phone number is ○○-○○○○。」

(Say what is wrong)

Ex.「There was an accident / Someone was injured。」
「The address is ○○町(machi)○丁目(cho me)○○番(ban)。」
(If you don't know the address, please give a nearby landmark。)
「(The person) is (condition)。」
The dispatcher might ask some additional questions, please answer as best as you can.  
「My name is ○○○○。」

A Request from the Hyuga Fire Department

Hyuga City receives emergency calls from both Hyuga and Kadogawa. We will not dispatch a truck or ambulance until we can confirm your location. Please answer all of our questions calmly and thoroughly so we can dispatch our trucks and ambulances quickly and efficiently.

※Cellphones do not require any area code. Just dial 119 and it will automatically transfer to the nearest available dispatcher. This should happen automatically, so please stay on the line.
