Access by car:
About 100 minutes from Miyazaki City via Route 10.
About 60 minutes from Miyazaki City via the expressway. (50 minutes from Miyazaki IC to Hyuga IC then 10 minutes from Hyuga IC to City Hall)
Access by train:
About 50 minutes by express train from Miyazaki Station to Hyuga-shi Station, then an 8 minute walk from Hyuga-shi Station.
About the New City Hall
The new Hyuga City Hall was completed on May 1st of 2018. The new building was designed to complement Hyuga-shi Station. It is built with reinforced concrete, able to handle a 9.0 earthquake, and is covered in locally sourced cedar. This cedar was all harvested along the Mimi River, which runs through Mimitsu and Togo.
The building was built to handle a 9.0 earthquake. In the event of a major natural disaster, it will be the headquarters for disaster response and can provide Tsunami and long term shelter for well over a thousand people.
Finally, it was designed with the citizens of Hyuga in mind. We hope that the city hall becomes a pleasant gathering place for everyone. It has outdoor terraces with benches and tables, more sitting areas indoors, and spaces free for citizens to use. Meeting rooms and a small hall are also available with a reservation. If you want to use a meeting room or the hall, please contact Hyuga City Hall. If you cannot speak Japanese, you can make reservations with the help of the CIR.
